RESEARCH NOTES
 

Thomas Finnegan was born at Athlone, Co. Roscommon, and enlisted into the 44th Foot on 17 August 1809. He was transferred to the 1st Garrison Staff Company in November 1814, due to ‘gunshot wound of left leg and right foot’, and discharged due to the Company being disbanded on 24 September 1816. Only seven medals issued with this single clasp to the 44th Foot. Sold with copy discharge papers.
